Weston is the third-safest city in the entire country, according to a report from security system review site

Wherever you go around here, Florida Man may be lurking, but he apparently has stayed away from Weston.

The affluent city in western Broward County is the third-safest city in the entire country, according to a report from security system review site

Only Greenwich, Conn., and Parsippany, N.J., ranked higher than Weston.

To generate each city’s score, the report considered FBI crime data and demographic metrics, including population density, population trends, unemployment rate, median income and education level. It only considered cities with a population over 50,000.

“Job growth and high earners abound here,” the website says of Weston, which it lists with a population just over 70,000. “Its family friendly environment, and beautiful scenery along its border with the Everglades, make it a top choice for families all across the nation.”

The study acknowledges that a city’s collective wealth generally correlated with higher scores.$11 billion sale of Weston-based Ultimate Software would make some employees millionaires.

“As with most other cities that rank as the safest in their state, Weston has a high median income of $93,553 per household,” it said. “Therefore people are well taken care of, and a propensity for crime is minimal.”

Weston was the only Florida city to make the top 50. And the city no stranger to these types of lists. In 2016, Weston was No. 8 on Money Magazine's list of “Top 10 Best Places to Live in America.

North Port, in Sarasota County, ranked 92nd nationally, and Port St. Lucie came in at No. 100.

Florida’s top 10 safest cities also included Margate, Cape Coral, Wellington, Coral Springs, Jupiter, Coconut Creek and Port Orange.
